Ice & Water Shield

This component is critical for watertight integrity in critical roofing areas, usually only along the roof’s edge. The leak barrier is installed a minimum of 6 feet up your roofline from the edge of the roof at gutter/eaves (which is often code), down valleys, around the chimneys, at the intersection of a roof field and a vertical wall, and around any penetration through the roofline (vents, skylights, etc).

Ice and Water shield is a peel and stick product that adheres directly to the roof deck. It forms a water-proof barrier where ice most often build up on the eaves edge. Essentially all the weakest or most prone to leaking areas of a roof should be coated with Ice and Water Shield before installing shingles or any other roofing products.
